What a day for a race! Wall to wall sunshine always makes a difference. 18 Gigs and Skulls from across the south east arrived into Brightlingsea to enter into our annual GigFest race. Thank you those who had the longest trips from South Kent and North Norfolk for taking part. The mixed teams were subject to a handicap system to ensure that any class would be properly represented in the results. Working closely with the Colne Yacht Club hopefully we made the day a little bit special for all. Here are a few pictures from the day and the results.
Christmas Tree Festival All Saints Church 13th-15th December 2019 Wow what a busy weekend for our club! First off was our entry into the Brightlingsea Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church. Always a popular event in town and this year was no exception. Thursday evening club members set up our entry in time for the main opening on Friday. This year our tree entry was called The Oar-a-Tree and covered in …. yes you guessed it Oars! We placed ourselves next to the organist where many people gathered or lingered listening to musical renditions of Christmas Carols. Our town is blessed with a huge amount of clubs covering everything from singing, sewing, to sailing. This was a great event to raise the profile of our club and hopefully help recruit some new members as a result.
